BLUE LORRAINE: If you love to sing country music and you are lucky enough to know the best country musicians for miles and miles...it's about time you do something about it. So Linda asked her friends and they said "Yeah sure" and that was that. You might have heard them play as members of the Hoyle brothers and other well know outfits and you may have heard Linda sings a few country tunes here and there. Especially if you haven't you need to come and see Blue Lorraine. http://www.bluelorraine.com/
ALLEGRA MALONE: Allegra Malone is a songstress, writer and instrumentalist with stories to tell. The Revival, her band of musical A-listers, bring the velocity of full throttle rock and roll, soul stirring blues and epic ballad’s to heights that signal a new moment in country music. The songs are a lyrical collage of love struck vulnerability, intimate peril and beaming transcendence. Old country and gospel folklore effortlessly reinvent Allegra’s Muscle Shoals (Al) roots, while pop undertones make her a cross genre artist with influences that range from Little Feat to Chris Stapleton. Her songwriting has been compared to Joni Mitchell, Susan Tedeschi and such notable country icons as Loretta Lynn for her punchy upbeat songs like Ripe on the Vine (2018). Friday night favorites such as Sweet Virginia, are instrumentally driven with such scorching momentum that by the end, it feels like the song is on the verge of exploding. Allegra’s voice is unbridled and passionate; she emotes an unmasked strength and femininity that has garnered her attention from fellow artists and audiences alike. This emerging, multifaceted artist is not to be missed and will soon be stirring souls on her 2018 tour. https://www.allegramalone.co
THE HOYLE BROTHERS: The Hoyle Brothers approach their music the way a preacher might prepare for a sermon: Reference the good Book, find a theme that resonates and deliver it with fire and passion. That’s what makes The Hoyle Brothers so special. LONESOME STILL: Hipsters, two-steppers, and even grizzled country purists agree Lonesome Still might be the best-kept secret in Chicago’s country music scene. You’ll hear the influence of the band’s blues, rock, and folk roots as they create a unique retro-country sound anchored by lead singer Michael O’Briant’s Johnny Cash-baritone, sweetened by Kary Ream and Emily Albright’s perfect harmonies, not to mention Emily’s fiddling. Add Chicago music scene veterans Tony Wittrock on lead guitar, Michael “Q” Quiroz on bass, Dave Huizenga on rhythm guitar and vocals, plus Theresa Drda on drums, and you’ve got Chicago’s best outlaw country group. https://lonesomestill.com
THE COUNTRY DOCTORS: The Country Doctors founded their practice in 2001. They refer to themselves as an “alt-classic-neo-traditionalist-honkabilly band.” Their roots are in the heartfelt repertoire of country musicians who played and sang with a purity of emotion often lacking in the genre today, while at the same time embracing contemporary artists who share a similar approach to country music.
